  • Overview

    D'Addario & Company, Inc. is seeking a full time Sr. Human Resources Generalist - Bilingual (Spanish) for our Sun Valley, CA location. The Sr. HR Generalist will effectively plan, direct, and coordinate all human resources activities including employee compensation & benefits, recruitment, personnel policies and procedures, training, employee relations, regulatory compliance, workers compensation, Paid Time Off, and employee safety for the D’Addario Woodwinds operation in California. He/she will also work closely with corporate HR in executing this work to assure alignment with corporate HR strategies and goals. The candidate MUST possess the ability to read, write and speak Spanish fluently. Only bilingual candidates will be considered. 

    Responsibilities

    • In conjunction with Corporate HR, develop and implement objectives, strategies and plans for Human Resources.
    • Work with other managers to assure successful implementation and execution of Company Business Plan.
    • Provide leadership and management to motivate workforce, communicate objectives, strategies, plans, and provide performance feedback to all employees.
    • Develop, implement, and control HR financial budget in support of the Company’s financial goals. Identify and report on significant variances.
    • In conjunction with Corporate HR, direct the development, administration and implementation of company-wide personnel and staffing policies and train managers and supervisors.
    • Ensure compliance with human resource and safety related federal, state, and local legal requirements.
    • Direct and coordinate company training. Conduct training or retain contractors to conduct training.
    • Recommend changes in employee compensation including new-hire salaries, promotion, and merit increases and review regularly.
    • Regularly review employee compensation and benefits package to ensure parody with corporate standards and competitiveness with local industry
    • Counsel with supervisors and managers on personnel activities and problems. Acts as a resource in all personnel-related matters and assists with disciplinary procedures. Approve all disciplinary action to ensure fairness and equity.
    • Administer, review, recommend, and assist with transfers, promotions and termination of employees.
    • Responsible for workers’ compensation accidents reporting and analysis. Research problems and recommend corrective action focusing on accident reduction and prevention.
    • Oversee company safety committee and administer the company safety program.
    • Oversee Performance Appraisal process including review of all evaluations, rate increases, and bonuses to insure legal compliance, fairness and equity. Ensure all PA’s are completed within the annual review period.
    • Administer employee handbook and policy manual.
    • Write, review, and maintain job descriptions.
    • Manage unemployment claims responses. Handle investigations and EEO complaints and represent the company at hearings in conjunctions with legal counsel.
    • Manage group insurance activities, including monitoring claims, paying premiums, and renewal analysis. Responsible for group medical, life, and dental insurance.
    • Monitor and assess company morale by tracking personnel activity and productivity indicators and develop programs to address needs.
    • Responsible for oversight of HR Administrative Assistant duties and responsibilities.
    • Plan and manage corporate HR projects as assigned.
    • Maintain company organizational chart.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required, or equivalent training and experience including SPHR/C-SPHR certification.
    • 5-10 years of related experience in Human Resources
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and HRIS systems.
    • SHRM or C-SHRM certification preferred
    • Must be fluent in Spanish and have the ability to make decisions in a high-pressured environment.
