We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President of US Sales to lead our sales efforts across various channels, with a focus on key accounts such as Amazon, Guitar Center, Sweetwater, Sam Ash, as well as independent dealers, and sub-distributors.  The VP of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing the strategies required to consistently exceed the US sales budget and customer expectations. This role requires constant strategic oversight and execution with the Digital Commerce, National Accounts and US independent dealer and distributor teamsThis includes active involvement with Amazon US, Sam Ash and Music & Arts, Sweetwater Sound and Guitar Center Retail and Online properties as well as key dealer accounts. Ideally this would be a hybrid role and require the candidate to work onsite in the Farmingdale, Long Island Headquarters office two days a week. 25 - 35% travel is likely. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in strategic sales planning, team leadership, and relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve the annual sales, sell through and gross margin objectives by channel and by brand for US accounts. 
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. 
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities. 
  • Frequently report accomplishments and results to executives 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with customer expectations and satisfaction. 
  • Lead and inspire the sales team to achieve individual and collective sales objectives. 
  • Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to enhance the team's capabilities. 
  • Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies and account management. 
  • Monitor sales metrics, track performance against targets, and implement corrective actions when necessary. 
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities. 
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts based on market trends, customer feedback, and historical data. 
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives. 
  • Communicate market feedback and customer insights to relevant stakeholders for product improvement and innovation. 
  • Negotiate agreements and contracts with key accounts, ensuring mutually beneficial terms. 
  • Review and approve sales agreements to support the interests of the company. 
  • Advocate for customers' interests within the organization to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. 
  • Assist in developing promotional calendars 
  • Prepare for and lead regularly scheduled meetings with all D’Addario brand/business unit teams, reviewing performance metrics while partnering on marketing strategy and product development opportunities. 
  • Keep manufacturing and sourcing colleagues abreast of key business developments that influence demand planning. 
  • Manage the sales expense budget for the region within approved guidelines 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in sales and ecommerce management at the national account level. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.  Relevant experience in the absence of formal education is welcomed. 
  • Excellent Microsoft Office proficiency particularly with Excel, Powerpoint and business analytics tools such as Power BI. 
  • Experience in the music products industry is a key advantage. 
  • Proven experience in sales leadership roles with a focus on key account management. 
  • Strong understanding of the sales process, market dynamics, and customer relationship management. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a high-performing sales team. 
  • Experience working with major retailers and independent dealers in the specified industry. 

 

The base salary range for this role would be commensurate with experience: $160-190k per year
