We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our our growing, progressive, and collaborative work environment. The Engineer will apply and integrate a range of engineering principles and practices to research and develop production machinery and automate and improve manufacturing processes. This position would be an on-site role and require the candidate to work on-site in our Farmingdale, New York office approximately 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Design production machinery from inception to completion, including design and detailing of all parts, overseeing assembly, design and programming of all control circuits, testing, operator training and implementation into production.
  • Analyze manufacturing problems and implement solutions.
  • Research, purchase and implement outsourced manufacturing machinery.
  • Implement manufacturing tooling and processes for new products.
  • Assist in research, development and testing of new products.
  • Troubleshooting problems in the factory and determining solutions.
  • Interface with QC department in investigating and correcting quality issues.

Qualifications

  • BS or BE in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Relevant work experience in lieu of degree maybe considered.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing production machinery solutions and working in a factory environment.
  • Pro-Engineer/Creo or similar 3d design software. Knowledge of Solidworks a plus.
  • Knowledge of injection molding operation and mold design a significant plus
  • Electro-mechanical automation background.
  • Knowledge of general automation techniques, components and principles.
  • Knowledge of standard machining and assembly practices a plus.

The base salary range for this role would be commensurate with experience: $100,000-$125,000 per year
