We are looking for a Bilingual Quality Engineer to join our team. The Quality Engineer is responsible for establishing a corporate quality assurance system and team that promotes customer satisfaction and that positively impacts the financial performance of the company. The Quality Engineer’s continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to establish an effective Quality Management System. Requires close working relationships with all suppliers, customers, Operations, Product Management, Global Supply Chain, and Value Stream Management. Qualified candidates MUST be bilingual and speak both English and Spanish. This position will require the candidate to work on-site in the Farmingdale, Long Island headquarters office..

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for establishment and maintenance of quality assurance standards and procedures, including testing and maintenance methods, procedures, data collection, and traceability where applicable.
  • Responsible for directing all in-process QA functions, including applicable customer required quality systems, departmental resources and ensuring that quality metrics and cost of quality goals are met.
  • Supports D’Addario operations initiatives, including Kaizen teams and other Continuous Improvement efforts.
  • In Process Inspection using of appropriate measuring equipment ensure raw materials, assemblies, sub-assemblies meet specified requirements & compliance. 
  • Responsible for validating quality of incoming raw materials and finished goods materials.
  • Works with various teams to develop and implement plans, including Quality plan, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), control plans, production part approval process (PPAP), part qualification checklist (PQC)
  • Works closely with Product Management, PD, Engineering, and Operations to ensure new products and quality standards are developed, tested, and launched successfully on time.
  • Analyzes problems related to delays, poor quality, rejects, and inadequate control. Writes or revises policy and procedures relative to quality control programs.
  • Supports Safety and Compliance Requirements such as REACH, RoHS, Prop65, etc. relevant to products, processes, industry and customer requirements
  • Responsible for a robust daily communication and meetings with suppliers & customer service
  • Supports Return Authorization process and requests from customers, tracks, and trends RMA data for Management Review and assist with RMA investigations as needed and provide feedback to the customer.
  • Leads Supplier Corrective Actions Requests (SCARs) - containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action.
  • Leads a team of Quality Lead and inspectors and provide guidance and feedback.
  • Reports to the organization on the performance of the QMS. (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • B.S. in Quality Engineering or similar technical background preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Control/Assurance Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma preferred
  • Manufacturing and Music industry experience preferred
  • Ability to organize and plan inter-departmental contacts with operations and external contacts related to the operation.
  • Ability to implement, plan, and manage people, budgets, processes and systems a must.
  • Adept working knowledge of all MS Office tools, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA & Control Plan.
  • Ability to make presentations to senior management in a clear concise manner.
  • Working familiarity with software-based ERP systems such as MAPICS, BPCS, SAP, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control Methods

 

The base salary range for this role would be commensurate with experience: $75k-$85k per year
