We are looking for a Intern to join our D'Addario Foundation team. This position will play a critical role in an instrument inventory project, handling hundreds of musical instruments that will be donated to nonprofit music organizations. He/She/They will also assist with a variety of projects aimed at supporting the organization's grant management, record-keeping, and outreach efforts, gaining hands-on experience in various nonprofit technology systems such as Salesforce (a Customer Relationship Service “CRM”) and WizeHive (a grantmaking platform). 

 

This is a meaningful opportunity for a student who is interested in nonprofit and social impact, music, and manufacturing.  

 

This internship is in-person in Farmingdale, New York (located on Long Island). Interns are asked to provide their own transportation. If arriving by Long Island Railroad (LIRR) the Intern may utilize a free D’Addario shuttle service between the Farmingdale LIRR and the D’Addario office.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Organizing and managing a comprehensive inventory of musical instruments 
  • Developing an interactive map of D’Addario Foundation grantee sites for display on the organization’s website  
  • Assisting with the upload and maintenance of Salesforce records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of both donor and grantee data 
  • Creating and updating detailed profiles for grantees in Salesforce, including relevant organizational and contact information 
  • Digitizing and cataloging acknowledgement letters received from grantees
  • Compiling and maintaining grant histories for current and non-current grantees to ensure historical records are up to date

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; obtained or on track to obtain by close of 2024-25 academic year 
  • Individual located in the NYC or Long Island area excited about assisting with the fast growth of a not-for-profit organization 
  • Strong organization and time-management skills 
  • Strong written communication skills  
  • Experience developing electronic content for social media and web 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office/365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) 
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or CRMs a plus, but not required 
  • Music background a plus, but not required 

 

The hourly rate for this position will be $20.00 per hour.
