Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Corporate Controller, will lead all financial operations, including reporting, global consolidations, budgeting and forecasting, strategic analysis, and executive support. The Controller will also optimize financial systems and processes—such as the INFOR ERP upgrade—and provide critical insights to the Vice President of Finance and executive leadership. Direct reports include the Associate Director Global Finance & Treasury, Accounting Manager, Payroll Manager, Accounts Receivable Manager, and Accounting Staff—with potential future additions such as Cost Accounting Manager, Budget & Planning Director, and European Accounting Manager.

 

This is a hybrid role and will require the candidate to work on-site in the Farmingdale office three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all core accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Receivable, payroll, and cash management, ensuring operational efficiency and financial accuracy
  • Oversee preparation of annual financial budgets, forecasts, and monthly/annual financial statements
  • Lead the finance team's role in the INFOR ERP upgrade, ensuring system alignment with reporting, cost accounting, and controls; oversee data migration and team training globally
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to protect company assets and ensure full compliance with GAAP
  • Provide timely and reliable financial statements and reports to the Vice President of Finance for internal and external use
  • Check signing and wire payment responsibilities to help ensure accurate and timely processing/payment of A/P
  • Coordinate global year end audits and other annual/quarterly procedures with outside accountants
  • Manage accounting for international operations, including multi-currency transactions, foreign exchange, and transfer pricing; ensure accurate reporting across global entities
  • Coordinate and participate in due diligence of potential acquisitions
  • Perform strategic analysis
  • Assist CFAO, President, Vice President of Finance, Corporate Tax Director and Business Unit Leaders as needed
  • Support family ownership and estate tax planning by providing financial data and analysis to external advisors, in coordination with the VP of Finance
  • Ad hoc reporting and special projects
  • Coordinate reporting needs of non-financial departments with the assistance of other Finance Dept personnel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; CPA highly preferred
  • 10 + years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role as a Controller or Assistant Controller
  • MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint and MS Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Needs to have the ability to learn the AS400, Mapics/Infor, Browser/BI tools, and Sharepoint
  • Manufacturing and International distribution experience highly preferred
  • Experience with INFOR ERP, particularly during major implementations or upgrade, highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Estate Tax Planning preferred

 

The base pay range for this role would be commensurate with experience: $185-$200k annually
